Frequently Asked Questions
-
Why Programs?Programs help care for clients in the way they deserve with transparent pricing, more one-on-one time and ongoing regular support so that we can address your health concerns from its root. We find that our clients achieve their goals faster when they don’t feel alone, can get their questions answered sooner and we can get feedback to see what is or is not working. Ongoing encouragement helps reduce dropout and emphasizes the WHY regarding what matters to one’s health.

How does telemedicine work?Telemedicine (virtual visit) allows for more convenient access to quality care. Rose Medical is designed to facilitate virtual consultations. There’s no need for expensive software on your end, as long as you’re comfortable with using the internet and communicating online. Once your appointment is confirmed, you’ll receive a link via email. You’ll also be able to access this link in your secure patient portal. Shortly before the visit start time, please join your appointment by clicking the link (make sure your audio and video are enabled). Lab orders, lab results, supplement recommendations, actionable plans and handouts will all be readily available from your secure patient portal. Functional medicine lab kits and supplements can be shipped directly to your house, and prescriptions can be sent to your local pharmacy. You’ll have direct access to our team through portal messaging between visits. Initial consultations are done via secure video, and follow ups can be by phone, email or secure video.

Do I need a referral from my primary care provider? No, you do not need a referral. Rose Medical is a consultative Integrative and Functional Medicine practice. We do not provide primary care services. We do ask that all clients have a primary care provider for basic conventional health maintenance.
-
Do you take insurance? Do you accept Medicare?Because of the time and focus we spend on your health and the limitation of medical insurance reimbursement, we do not accept any insurance plans. Many clients can still use their HSA/FSA benefits towards some of our services. We accept cash and all major credit cards.

How much does it cost?I don’t want to waste your time or money doing unnecessary tests. Each individual gets tailored lab recommendations based on an initial visit called a Focused Health Case Review. For a typical comprehensive hormone evaluation, the initial cost of labs can start at $365. More specific functional labs are available and vary in price. Please contact us if you have a specific question regarding services.

I’m considering Hormone Replacement Therapy. What is the least amount of testing we could do in order to move forward in a safe way?As women and men age and their hormone levels drop (estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA), the risk of heart disease, stroke, dementia, diabetes and cancer naturally go up. So I screen all my patients for cardiometabolic disease. I also thoroughly evaluate their current hormone status, liver function and how they are converting these hormones. For example, if a woman is making the wrong type of estrogen, this can damage her DNA making HRT more risky without knowing and supporting the conversion process. This is where I recommend screening with a DUTCH Urine Metabolite test and stool panel. Many don’t realize how connected our gut is to our hormone health!

How do you follow up on treatment plans? After receiving your health portfolio detailing your treatment plan, we follow up by scheduling regular check-ins, through virtual visits, to monitor your progress and adjust your care as needed. You will also have an opportunity to join a membership based on your specific needs.

Do you prescribe weight loss medication?Yes! In conjunction with a guided and supported weight loss program, I prescribe semaglutide and tirzepatide injections to be administered at home.
